Team Taylor versus Team Murdoch

The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU), nominated Jim Taylor for a Sporting Chance Jim having been injured in a rugby accident.

Give Them a Sporting Chance arranged for Jim to skip a wheelchair curling Team of Bill Masterton, Angie Malone and Jim Elliot against David Murdoch and his World Championship Rink of Graeme Connal,  Peter Smith and Euan Byers in an exhibition at Active Stirling Ice Rink and Sports Facility. It was a dream come true for Jim’s team and their substitute Ian Donaldson who skipped Team Murdoch over the last two ends.

Team Taylor lost a 5 at the first and never recovered and although settling into a rhythm lost 11-1 over 6 ends. Their world class and able bodied opponents were assisted by sweeping,  a luxury the wheelchair team did not have.  Team Murdoch were delightful company and more than willing to share and discuss tactics and skills. True Ambassadors.

Active Stirling were prominent and generous with facilities. Alison Walker and her 110sport.com team filmed everything which will mean that each member of the team will receive a copy DVD for posterity to cherish and relive the dream.

Jim has raised money for Marie Curie Cancer Care Big Build.
